Acqua for Life

It's about raising funds and awareness for safe, clean drinking water for children in need. Acqua for Life is a campaign by Giorgio Armani to support the UNICEF Tap Project in an effort to help UNICEF improve access to safe, clean water for children around the globe. For every person who "likes" Acqua for Life on Facebook, Giorgio Armani will donate $1* to support the UNICEF Tap Project, up to 100,000. With $1, UNICEF can provide a child with 40 days of safe, clean drinking water.

About Clean Water

Clean water is essential, millions of people worldwide lack access to it – and nearly half of those people are children. Reducing the number of people without access to safe water and basic sanitation will save children at risk of waterborne illness, the second highest cause of preventable childhood deaths. Every day 21,000 children die of preventable causes, and UNICEF is committed to doing whatever it takes to make that number zero.

Unicef Tap Project

The award-winning UNICEF Tap Project, supported by Giorgio Armani since 2010, offers participants across the United States the opportunity to help provide the world’s children with safe, clean water. With just one dollar, UNICEF can provide clean drinking water to a child for 40 days. Through numerous fundraising and volunteer activities, the UNICEF Tap Project engages celebrity, restaurant, volunteer and corporate supporters to help provide this vital resource to children in developing countries. The concept is basic and compelling: “When You Take Water, Give Water.”
